The 20th of September marks the start of a week where various countries will implement a series of social actions that will culminate with a global strike against climate change on the 27th of September.
To coincide with this important date, and in order to raise awareness of this and other causes that are important to us, we will be organizing a series of events in Torremolinos and Málaga so as to mobilize the public.
To everyone involved in this event, sustainability is a priority. Therefore, we have created a committee to ensure that our activities have minimal impact on the environment. Once all the activities for this event have concluded, we will publish a document describing the impact, positive and negative, that we generated in each one.
Come and have a beer with us together with many other people who are committed to social causes. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet people just like you, who want to change the World. Furthermore, you will discover all that awaits you in those days.
Oh! And if you are among the first 60 people to arrive you will receive a FREE drink and a snack.
Inspiring stories are waiting for you that day.
Listen to what the actual protagonists in person have to say.
Saturday, September 21st, is International Clean Beach Day and will be celebrated with various cleaning activities that will be taking place simultaneously in different cities around the country.
Do you want to make the world a better place but sometimes find it hard to do so? Here we will have the opportunity to take action. We will clean the mouth of the River Guadalhorce and leave this area as it is meant to be.
We will be aware of the damage that people can do to the environment. But also that the responsibility of taking care of and changing the life of the planet lays in our own hands.
Enjoy yourself with us at the Festival of the Romería de Torremolinos but in a sustainable and conscientious manner.
Just in front of the old Fire Station: we will set up a “room” where we will show, in a very clear way, the effect of plastic materials. Very close to this room we will set up a “clean point” so the participants of the festival can discard their waste products.
In the Seniors and Associations House: We will enjoy a vegetarian paella made by the association Paelleros sin Fronteras with seasonal produce of the area, donated in part by Aula Verde Torremolinos and the Hevilla Family. Also, MgJamon will donate the beverages so we won’t be missing anything. And of course, we will be using only reusable or compostable materials offered to us by Codensa. Each plate of paella plus a drink will cost 5 euros, and the money raised will be used to cover the costs of the event, and any leftover cash will be donated to a socially beneficial project chosen by the participants of the event.
We want to prove that we can still have a great time and yet reduce the amount of waste generated.
Join us and be part of the change.
What better way to show the waste that is generated during a festival than by collecting it all and displaying it to the public?
With the support of the artist, Javier Terner will create a sculpture with all the waste that is collected during the Romería Festival. This moment will symbolize the problem of the uncontrolled use of plastics and other single-use materials.
We want people to reflect on this great threat which becomes more devastating with each passing day.
PLEASE NOTE: We will publish more information as soon as we have more details.
